Baton Rouge Code §13:1056 prohibits minors under 17 from being in public unsupervised during curfew hours: 11 PM–5 AM Sunday–Thursday and 1 AM–5 AM Friday–Saturday. Exceptions exist for school, work, and supervised activities.
Title 13 (Criminal Law), §13:1056 of the EBRP Code of Ordinances establishes a juvenile curfew for anyone under 17 years of age who has not been emancipated. Curfew hours are 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday nights and 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Exceptions include minors accompanied by a parent or guardian, minors engaged in or traveling to/from employment, and minors engaged in school or religious activities. Parents are responsible for violations.
Parents or guardians of curfew-violating minors face fines up to $500, up to 60 days community service, or up to six months imprisonment. Repeat offenses may escalate penalties.
