Washington County enforces no juvenile curfew, but Fayetteville's Youth Protection Safety Ordinance does. Minors under 16 must be off public places 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily; ages 16-17 face a midnight curfew, enforced from July 2026.
Arkansas leaves juvenile curfews to municipalities, so unincorporated Washington County has none. Fayetteville adopted a Youth Protection Safety Ordinance, actively enforced from July 9, 2026, after concern over late-night juvenile crime. Minors under 16 may not be in public places between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. any day; ages 16 and 17 are restricted from midnight to 5 a.m. on weekdays and 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on weekends. A daytime rule keeps suspended or truant minors under 18 out of public places on school days from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Exceptions cover minors with a parent, traveling to work, or in an emergency.
Fayetteville police may return a minor home or cite the parents, who face a fine of up to $500. Parents can also violate the ordinance by knowingly permitting a curfew breach through insufficient control.
