Guadalupe County has no juvenile curfew. Texas banned local curfews for minors in 2023. Under Local Government Code 370.007, no county or city may adopt or enforce a curfew on anyone under 18, except during declared emergencies.
Neither Guadalupe County nor its cities can enforce a juvenile curfew. In 2023 the Legislature passed House Bill 1819, adding Local Government Code Section 370.007, which prohibits any political subdivision from adopting or enforcing a curfew on persons younger than 18. Older county and city curfew authority was repealed. Every pending curfew case was dismissed on September 1, 2023. The only exception is a curfew ordered under the emergency management law, Chapter 418 of the Government Code. A minor out late in Seguin, Schertz, Cibolo, or unincorporated Guadalupe County commits no curfew offense.
There is no curfew violation to charge. Since September 1, 2023, no Texas county or city may cite a minor for being out late, and any prior curfew case was dismissed by law.
