Omaha parks close from 11 PM to 5 AM under Omaha Municipal Code Β§22-4. Memorial Park, Elmwood Park, Hanscom Park, Zorinsky Lake, and Standing Bear Lake all enforce closing hours. Unauthorized presence is a trespassing violation. Camping prohibited in parks.
The City of Omaha regulates park hours under Omaha Municipal Code Chapter 22 (Parks and Recreation). Most Omaha parks are closed from 11 PM to 5 AM, with hours posted at park entrances. Exceptions exist for parks with lighted sports fields (Levi Carter Park, Dewey Park, Westside) where lighted activities may continue until 10 or 11 PM per scheduled use. Major parks subject to the curfew include Memorial Park, Elmwood Park, Hanscom Park, Benson Park, Fontenelle Park, Zorinsky Lake Recreation Area, Standing Bear Lake, and Lake Cunningham. Walking trails within parks follow the same closure hours. After-hours access without a permit constitutes trespassing and is enforced by Omaha Police Department and Omaha Parks security. Unauthorized camping is prohibited in all city parks under Β§22-24. Special event permits can extend hours for approved festivals, Shakespeare on the Green at Elmwood, and concerts. State parks (Chalco Hills, Mahoney β in Sarpy/Cass) operate under separate Nebraska Game & Parks Commission rules.
After-hours trespassing in park: $50 to $250 citation under Omaha Muni Code Β§22-4. Unauthorized camping: $100 to $500 plus property removal. Vandalism during closed hours: criminal mischief charges under Neb. Rev. Stat. Β§28-519.
