Laredo enforces sight-triangle rules at corner lots. Fences, walls, and landscaping must stay under roughly 30 inches in height within the triangle formed by 25 feet along each intersecting curb line to preserve driver sight lines.
The Land Development Code requires a clear visibility triangle at street intersections and at driveway-to-street points. The typical triangle is 25 feet measured from the point of curb intersection along each street. Within that area, solid objects including fences, walls, opaque landscaping, and parked vehicles cannot exceed 30 inches in height. Wrought iron and open-design fencing can sometimes extend higher if at least 50 percent transparent. Enforcement is active near school zones and major arterials. Violations generally trigger a 30-day cure notice followed by abatement. Commercial driveways on arterials have wider clear zones.
30 days to cure. Up to 500 dollars per day of noncompliance. City may abate and bill owner.
