Aurora requires a continuous barrier meeting Section AG105 Barrier Requirements from the Swimming Pool and Spa Code around all swimming pools. The fence or barrier must be completed prior to having water in the pool, along with all inspections being approved. If the home and fence serve as the continuous barrier, all doors leading from the home interior to the pool must have exit alarms meeting UL 2017 standards. The pool must be set at least 5 feet from all property lines or fences (10 feet from alleys and extended side property lines for corner lots). All inspections must pass before the pool can be used.
