Above-ground pools with sides 48+ inches meeting other barrier standards may satisfy the requirement. Barrier compliance is inspected at pool permit final inspection.
Non-compliant barriers: fail final inspection, pool may not be filled until compliant. Code Enforcement citations after installation: $500-$1,000 fine. Liability exposure for drowning incidents.
