Under Conroe Code Sec. 26-33, it is a public nuisance for grass, weeds, brush, or other uncultivated plants to exceed 12 inches in height on property within 100 feet of a neighboring residence, public building, or commercial establishment. Code Enforcement responds to complaints and may require abatement. Since burning of cleared brush is prohibited within city limits under Ch. 30, cleared material must be hauled away or chipped. Clearing and tree preservation permits for construction sites are submitted to the Engineering Department via OpenGov as of June 2025. Contact the Engineering Department for clearing permit details.
