Outdoor burning rules in Conroe, TX β also called the burn ban, open burning, or fire restriction ordinance β set when you can burn yard waste, debris, or run a recreational fire.
Outdoor burning of any kind is illegal within Conroe city limits under Chapter 30. The only exception is a one-time construction clearing burn with a city permit, TCEQ approval, and constant attendance.
Chapter 30 of the Conroe Code of Ordinances prohibits all outdoor burning: no person shall burn or authorize the burning of any rubbish, trash, waste, leaves, weeds, grass, lumber, or any other combustible materials in the City. The only exception requires: approved site plans for new construction on file with the City, a prior TCEQ permit, a completed Open Burning Application and Permit from the code official, a site inspection verifying compliance, and constant attendance by a competent person with extinguishing equipment available. Complaints may result in permit revocation.
Violators may receive citations with fines up to $2,000 per Chapter 30. Construction clearing burn permits may be revoked if complaints are generated.
