Conroe, TX Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Section 66-62 lists four categories of vehicle that cannot be parked, stored or left on any city street for more than 24 hours: a motor vehicle classified at more than one ton, a trailer whether or not it's attached to a towing vehicle, a recreational vehicle, and a truck tractor with or without a trailer attached. Because "a trailer that is or is not attached to a towing vehicle" is written broadly, it captures boat trailers whether or not a boat is on them and whether or not a tow vehicle is hitched up.

The only carve-out is for publicly owned or franchised emergency vehicles that on-call employees of municipal, state or franchised utility departments are required to take home to respond to service repairs. The rule traces back to the 1966 Code, section 18-21, and was most recently amended by Ord. No. 2733A-24, adopted September 26, 2024, reflecting the city's continued attention to residential street parking as Conroe's population grows. It is a distinct provision from the general overtime parking rule in Section 66-63, which separately limits parking in marked or signed spaces to set time windows on weekdays; Section 66-62 applies specifically to the listed heavy vehicles, trailers and RVs on any street, regardless of signage.
