Data
These tables are built by program from the rule pages on this site. Where a table reports a rule, every value is read or worked out from the legal text quoted on a rule page, and a place whose quoted text does not state the value is left out and counted. Every row gives a source link, taken from its rule pages or from a record of link corrections and comparisons with the live code, with the section where one is on record. The link is on a domain from this site’s list of allowed sources and is not a state or federal site. It can open the front page of the code or a different part of the code, not the cited section, and an address stored some time ago may no longer open.
When quiet hours start in local noise codes
The nightly period during which a local code restricts noise in general, read from the passage of the code stored on each quiet-hours page of this site. Only rows that a comparison with the live text of the cited section bore out are listed.
Among the 109 local codes listed in this table, 69 (63 percent) start the nightly period for noise in general at 10 p.m.

Who publishes local law
For each city and county, the website most of its rule pages on this site link to as their source: a code publishing platform such as Municode or eCode360, or a local government website.
Municode came first in 636 of the 1,316 cities and counties counted (48%): more of the pages counted for each of those places link to it than to any other publisher.
