Aggregate cylinder storage limits apply near dwellings, and larger stationary tanks (typically 125 gallons and up) require professional installation and can trigger permitting. LP-gas dealers and installers must be licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture. Cylinders must be stored upright, outdoors, away from basements and building openings.
Improperly sited or oversized propane tanks can fail fire inspection, be red-tagged, and draw fire-code citations; unlicensed LP-gas work is separately penalized by the state.
