Alaska's AUCIOA requires at least one annual association meeting with 10-60 days' written notice and an agenda (AS 34.08.390). Owners elect the executive board and may remove members by a two-thirds vote (AS 34.08.330). Records must be 'reasonably available' to owners (AS 34.08.490). Notably, Alaska does NOT mandate open board meetings.
AS 34.08.390 requires 'a meeting of the association... at least once each year,' with notice 'not less than 10 nor more than 60 days in advance' stating the time, place, and agenda - including proposed amendments, budget changes, or removal of a board member. Special meetings may be called by owners holding 20% of votes. AS 34.08.330 directs that 'the unit owners shall elect an executive board' of at least three members, and owners may remove a member 'by a two-thirds vote of all persons present and entitled to vote.' AS 34.08.490 says 'financial and other records must be made reasonably available for examination by a unit owner.' Notably, Alaska's AUCIOA includes no express open-meeting mandate for executive-board meetings.
No specific statutory penalty. Owners enforce meeting-notice, election, and records rights through internal remedies and, if needed, a lawsuit; the association may also be compelled to make records reasonably available under AS 34.08.490.
