For manufacturing and industrial-use sites in unincorporated Collier County, sound is capped at 75 dB(A)/87 dB(C) at all times under Table I. Any premises where manufacturing is legally permitted is treated as manufacturing use.
Under Sec. 54-92, Table I sets a single all-times limit of 75 dB(A)/87 dB(C) for both 'manufacturing or industrial' and 'agricultural' use occupancies, higher than the residential and commercial caps. A site's legally permitted use, not its zoning label, controls the limit, and in mixed uses the most restrictive lawful use governs. Power-driven construction equipment operating within 2,500 feet of residential zoning around the clock must be shielded to reduce sound between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Sounds are judged at the affected property and must exceed ambient by 5 dB to violate.
Enforced with a sound-level meter under Sec. 54-90: $100 first, $250 second, $500 third or more; the county may also seek injunctive relief as a public nuisance.
