Inside the Salem-Keizer UGB, industrial sources may not exceed 70 dBA day / 65 dBA night at commercial or industrial receivers, and only 55 dBA at noise-sensitive homes. Impulse sound is capped at 100 dB day and 80 dB night.
Marion County Code 8.45.060(E) sets a maximum-permissible-sound-level table by source and receiver. An industrial source may reach 70 dBA day and 65 dBA night at commercial or industrial receivers, but only 55 dBA when the receiver is noise-sensitive (a home, school, hospital or church). MCC 8.45.060(E)(3)(a) adds a separate impulse-sound cap: no source may emit an impulse sound with a peak level above 100 dB by day or 80 dB by night. Permitted industrial uses are otherwise exempted from the general prohibition under MCC 8.45.080(H).
Exceeding the industrial or impulse limits is a Class A violation under ORS Chapter 153, enforced through Chapter 1.25 MCC. Each event may be charged as separate violations.
