Marana, AZ Noise Ordinances: Industrial Noise (2026)

Industrial noise in Marana falls under the general noise ordinance in Town Code Chapter 11-5. The town does not maintain a separate industrial noise decibel table for standard commercial or industrial zones, relying instead on the general disturbance-of-peace standard applicable to all zones. The Resort and Recreation (RR) zone is the only zone with quantified dBA limits at the property boundary under Section 11-5-3 Table 1. The I-10 corridor through Marana includes the Marana Commerce Park, Ina Road industrial areas, and logistics facilities that generate truck traffic and operational noise. The Marana Land Development Code Title 17 addresses compatibility between industrial and residential zones through setback requirements, buffering standards, and conditional use provisions. Sand and gravel mining operations, which are present in the Santa Cruz River floodplain area, are specifically exempt from construction noise restrictions under Section 11-5-4. Agricultural operations, including cotton gins and feed operations in western Marana, are also exempt from noise time restrictions.
