No section specifically restricts leaf blowers by name, but loud power garden equipment used in a residential context during restricted hours can constitute a violation of § 12:100's general prohibition on loud and raucous noise. Enforcement is handled by the Baton Rouge Police Department. A 2019 amendment (Ordinance 19-01373) clarified and strengthened the construction-hour restrictions.
Violations of Title 12, Chapter 2 are misdemeanor offenses. First offenders may receive a warning; subsequent violations can result in fines up to $500 per offense under Title 13 general penalty provisions.
