Toledo Municipal Code 507.09(a) restricts engine- or motor-powered lawn and maintenance tools typically used by homeowners (power mowers, garden tools, riding tractors, power saws, edgers) to 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on weekends and legal holidays when they exceed the fixed-source noise level at the property line. Subsection (b) requires mufflers in good working condition; snow blowers and plows are exempt from the time limits (507.09(c)). Check your township for any separate limits.
Toledo violations are minor misdemeanors, each day a separate offense (TMC 507.99). Missing or defective mufflers are a separate violation under 507.09(b).
