Unincorporated Lake County sets no blanket overnight on-street parking ban for cars, but a vehicle over 12,000 lbs GVWR may not be kept on a residential street, and RVs may occupy a residential front yard only 24 hours for loading. Overnight camping in an RV requires a licensed RV park.
There is no county-wide 'no overnight parking' ordinance for ordinary passenger vehicles in unincorporated Lake County; on-street rules come from FS 316.1945. However, LDR Section 3.06.03(B) prohibits any vehicle over a GVWR of 12,000 lbs from being parked, stored or kept overnight on any residential public street, avenue, alley or right-of-way. Boats and RVs may sit in a front yard only for a 24-hour loading/unloading period (Sec. 3.06.03), and RVs may not be occupied overnight except in a designated RV park or campground (Sec. 3.01.04). Incorporated cities frequently add overnight restrictions of their own.
Oversized-vehicle and RV-occupancy violations are cited by Lake County Code Enforcement; unresolved cases proceed to the Special Magistrate with daily fines.
