The Flint Department of Public Works (Street Maintenance) coordinates snow-emergency activations with the Police Department. On private property, Section 28-103 prohibits parking within the setback area of any residential property except on a designed driveway, so overnight storage is funneled to the driveway or garage. MCL 257.674 setback rules (hydrants, crosswalks, stop signs) apply 24 hours a day.

Vehicles parked during a declared snow emergency in obstruction of plow operations are subject to ticketing and removal under Section 28-94 and the City's snow-emergency announcements.
