Unincorporated Santa Rosa County has no county-wide overnight on-street parking ban. Storing a licensed vehicle overnight on your own lot is fine. Unlicensed or derelict vehicles, and RVs used as living quarters, are restricted. Cities set their own overnight rules.
The county sets no general overnight on-street parking prohibition in the unincorporated area; rural roads have no permit or curfew scheme. Overnight parking of a road-ready, licensed vehicle on your own residential lot is permitted. Two limits still apply from the Land Development Code: unlicensed, derelict, or wrecked vehicles must be screened or garaged under LDC Β§ 9.03.01(C), and using an RV as overnight living quarters in a residential district is forbidden under LDC Β§ 4.02.03(G)(2). A vehicle left on a public road may be treated as abandoned under state law (FS 705.103). Milton, Gulf Breeze, and Jay set their own overnight-parking ordinances.
Abandoned vehicles on public property may be removed under FS 705.103; derelict/unlicensed vehicles on private lots are cited by county Code Enforcement.
