Oversized commercial vehicles, including trucks with a GVWR over 15,000 pounds, two-or-more-rear-axle trucks, and semis, may not be parked on residentially or agriculturally zoned property in Lee County. Non-commercial recreational trailers and RVs are exempted from this size restriction.
The LDC does not set a general size cap on household vehicles, but LDC Sec. 34-1181 restricts oversized commercial-class vehicles in residential and agricultural zones: no truck with a manufacturer GVWR over 15,000 pounds, no truck with two or more rear axles, no tractor-trailer or semi, and no truck-and-trailer combination over 15,000-lb combined GVWR (unless the trailer is solely recreational). This applies across AG, RS, RM, MH, RV, PUD and similar zones. A recreational RV, camper, or boat trailer is expressly exempted. Commercial storage of oversized vehicles is handled under Sec. 34-1352, and vehicles cannot be used as storage structures under Sec. 34-3105.
Code Enforcement issues a written removal notice, then a citation; oversized commercial vehicles left in violation may be towed at the owner's expense.
