Myrtle Beach has no dedicated size cap on street parking, but no vehicle, however large, may be parked to leave less than ten feet of roadway clear for traffic. Large commercial trucks may occupy a metered curb only while loading, and must use a center lane where available.
Myrtle Beach Code Sec. 12-84 prohibits stopping, standing or parking any vehicle on a street so as to leave less than ten feet of roadway width free for the movement of traffic, and Sec. 12-93 requires the same ten-foot clearance in alleys. These width rules effectively limit where oversized RVs, trailers and trucks may park. Commercial trucks must load and unload from a center lane where one exists rather than the curb (Sec. 12-134). No more than two motorized vehicles may occupy a single parking space (Sec. 12-101). The unincorporated county sets off-street parking-stall sizes for tour buses and standard vehicles in its zoning parking regulations but does not cap on-street oversized vehicles.
Obstructing a street or alley with an oversized vehicle is a Myrtle Beach civil parking offense from a $30 courtesy amount, with late escalation and possible towing of vehicles declared a nuisance.
