Unincorporated Yuba County has no separate oversized-vehicle ordinance, but large vehicles are reached through Chapter 9.21. Vehicles over two-ton capacity are limited to five hours on public ways (Sec. 9.21.040), and commercial vehicles rated 10,000 pounds or more are banned from residential streets (Sec. 9.21.045).
Yuba County does not have a dedicated oversized-vehicle chapter like some cities; instead, large and heavy vehicles in the unincorporated area are regulated through the commercial-vehicle provisions of Title IX, Chapter 9.21, plus the general street-storage limit. Section 9.21.040 (Commercial vehicle parking on public ways) prohibits parking a vehicle of more than two-ton capacity on any public street, thoroughfare, sidewalk or other public way for more than five consecutive hours, except when loading or unloading property or when servicing property in the block where it is parked. Section 9.21.045 prohibits parking or standing commercial vehicles in residential areas where the vehicle has a manufacturer's gross weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more, including self-propelled vehicles with or without trailers and all commercial trailers. Large recreational vehicles, motor homes, travel trailers and boat trailers are additionally subject to the 72-hour street-storage cap of Section 9.10.530 and may not be stored in the public right-of-way. Together these rules function as the county's oversized-vehicle controls, even though no provision uses a single length or height threshold.
An oversized commercial vehicle rated 10,000 pounds or more parked on a residential street violates Section 9.21.045. A vehicle over two-ton capacity left on a public way beyond five hours, outside the loading or block-service exceptions, violates Section 9.21.040. Large RVs left over 72 hours or stored in the right-of-way violate Section 9.10.530.
