Yuba County Ordinance Code Chapter 9.21 restricts commercial vehicle parking in the unincorporated area. Section 9.21.045 bars commercial vehicles rated 10,000 pounds gross weight or more from residential streets, and Section 9.21.040 limits vehicles over two-ton capacity on public ways to five consecutive hours except when loading or servicing nearby property.
Commercial vehicle parking on unincorporated county streets is regulated by Title IX, Chapter 9.21 (Restrictions on Commercial Vehicle Parking and Storage) of the Yuba County Ordinance Code. Section 9.21.045 prohibits parking or standing commercial vehicles on streets in residential areas, specifically including self-propelled vehicles with or without trailers that have a manufacturer's gross weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more, and all commercial trailers. Separately, Section 9.21.040 (Commercial vehicle parking on public ways) prohibits any person from causing or permitting a vehicle of more than two-ton capacity to be parked on any public street, thoroughfare, sidewalk or other public way for more than five consecutive hours, except when actively loading or unloading property or when the vehicle is parked in connection with performing a service to property in the block where it is parked. The county's code-enforcement guidance reinforces that commercial vehicles may not be parked in residential areas. These rules supplement the general 72-hour street-storage limit of Section 9.10.530, which applies to all vehicles regardless of type.
Parking a commercial vehicle rated 10,000 pounds or more (or a commercial trailer) on a residential street violates Section 9.21.045. Leaving a vehicle over two-ton capacity on a public way for more than five consecutive hours, outside the loading or block-service exceptions, violates Section 9.21.040. Either can result in citation and removal.
