Buffalo, MN restricts street parking after snowfall under City Code Section 46-51. From November 1 through April 1, it is unlawful to park on any city street from 2:00 a.m. until curb-to-curb plowing is completed (Section 46-51(a)). Buffalo's winter parking restrictions are codified in Code Section 46-51. Section 46-51(a) states that following any snowfall between November 1 and April 1, it is unlawful to park or leave a vehicle on any street from 2:00 a.m. until curb-to-curb snow plowing has been completed on that street. Section 46-51(b) authorizes the City Administrator to declare a snow emergency during continuous or substantial snowfall β when declared, parking is prohibited citywide until the emergency is rescinded. The standard daytime/year-round parking rules (no parking blocking traffic, hydrants, driveways, or marked zones) continue to apply. The Buffalo Police Department and Public Works enforce the winter restrictions.
Violators may be ticketed or tagged and towed at the owner's expense. Tickets are civil parking violations under the City's fine schedule.
