Anaheim prohibits displaying items for sale on exterior fences, walls, or public areas under AMC 6.26. Items stored outside in residential areas may constitute blight under the city's nuisance ordinance.
AMC Section 6.26.030 prohibits displaying property for sale on the exterior of any fence or wall that separates the premises from neighboring property, public sidewalks, parkways, streets, alleys, or public property. The city's nuisance ordinance classifies broken furniture, discarded appliances, debris, lumber, trash, and junk visible from public view as blight requiring abatement. Items stored outside including rubbish, boxes, machinery, inoperable vehicles, yard waste, or junk of any kind are subject to code enforcement action. All commercial sales activity on residential property must comply with garage sale regulations (quarterly dates only). Unauthorized commercial sales operating as garage sales may be cited for operating a business without a license. Code Enforcement at 714-765-5158 handles property maintenance complaints.
Blight condition: code enforcement notice with correction period. Unauthorized commercial sales: business license violation. Display on public property: removal order.
