Brookhaven Town Code Chapter 57A permits 4 garage sales per year per household, each lasting no more than 3 consecutive days, with free permit from the Town Clerk. Islip Town Code Chapter 46 allows 3 sales per year, 2 consecutive days each. Southampton permits 2 per year. Sales must occur on the residence property only, not on public rights of way. Items sold must be household personal property of the resident, not commercial inventory.
