Englewood requires a permit from the City Clerk before any garage sale, limits sales to two days, and caps signs at 18 by 24 inches.
Under Englewood's special sales chapter, it is unlawful to conduct a garage sale without first filing information with the City Clerk and obtaining a permit. Applicants must provide the seller's name, property owner's name, sale location, dates, and a truthful statement. No single sale may continue more than two days, and only one permit per month per property is allowed each calendar year. Signs are capped at 18 by 24 inches, must include the location, permit number, and seller's name, and must be removed by 6:00 p.m. on the last sale day. Permits must be displayed prominently during the sale.
Holding a garage sale without a permit, exceeding two days, posting oversize signs, or leaving signs up past 6:00 p.m. on the final day violates the special sales rules.
