Englewood Chapter 385 requires pool barrier fences with self-closing, lockable gates around private pools deeper than 18 inches.
Private swimming pools holding water more than 18 inches deep must be enclosed by a fence or wall designed to reasonably prevent access by passing under, over, or through. Pools located within 200 feet of the front property line must be completely enclosed; pools 200 feet or more from the front line may instead fence the side and rear lines. Required fencing must include a self-closing gate that can be locked when the pool is unguarded. Permit applications submitted to the Chief Inspector must show the pool location, dimensions, and all existing and proposed fencing.
Failure to provide compliant pool fencing can result in permit denial, fines, and orders to drain or secure the pool.
