Live Oak garage sales must be conducted on the seller's own residential property, cannot obstruct sidewalks or streets, and must remove all merchandise and signage from view within 24 hours after the sale ends.
Live Oak allows residents to hold garage and yard sales on their own residential property subject to property maintenance standards. Sale merchandise must be displayed within the property boundaries and may not be placed in the public right-of-way, on sidewalks, on neighboring property without consent, or in a manner that blocks pedestrian or vehicle traffic. At the close of the sale each day, unsold items should be returned to covered storage or out of public view; items left in the yard continuously give the appearance of outdoor storage and trigger property maintenance violations. Sellers must obtain a garage sale permit (see separate entry) and are limited in the number of sales per year. Parking for customers must be on legal street parking with adequate sight distance from driveways and corners. Signs are subject to separate sign regulations (see garage-sale-signs entry). Within 24 hours of the last advertised sale day, all merchandise, tables, racks, and signage must be removed from the yard and public view.
