Anderson's Environmental Nuisance Control Division enforces property-maintenance standards on trash, debris, weeds and junk vehicles. Owners who ignore a violation notice face abatement of the nuisance at their expense plus court, administration and other costs.
The City of Anderson Environmental Nuisance Control Division takes complaints on real property concerning weeds, trash and debris, and junk vehicles. When a violation is found, the Division issues the owner a letter describing the problem and a time limit to correct it. If the owner neglects the notice, the city may issue a court summons and abate the nuisance. Property owners are then responsible for the abatement costs plus court costs, administration costs, and/or fines. Blight complaints are handled by the city Code Enforcement and Environmental Control departments rather than the county.
Owners who ignore a violation notice face nuisance abatement at their expense, court costs, administration costs, and/or fines.
