Mililani Town residents must follow ROH Sec. 42-1.4 on container size, weight limits, lids, and curbside placement for refuse and recyclable pickup.
ROH Sec. 42-1.4 establishes container specifications for Mililani Town households served by City and County of Honolulu collection. Containers must be 10 to 35 gallons, weigh no more than 25 pounds empty or 75 pounds filled, and have tight-fitting lids. The city provides automated gray, blue, and green carts on most Mililani Town routes. Carts must be placed at the curb on the scheduled collection day and promptly removed afterward. They cannot block sidewalks or driveways. HOA covenants often require carts to be stored out of view from the street when not set out for pickup. Chapter 42 codifies what was historically the ROH Chapter 9 refuse framework.
Enforcement can include fines, non-collection of carts, and HOA violation notices in addition to city penalties.
