Riverside County operates ABOP and household hazardous waste collection sites in Mecca, Murrieta, Palm Springs, and Riverside accepting sharps from residents at no charge. Tossing loose syringes in curbside bins is a misdemeanor and creates serious risk for sanitation workers. Some retail pharmacies also offer collection.
