The Arizona Department of Revenue administers TPT. Some incorporated cities within Pima County (like Tucson) may have separate business licensing requirements for landlords, but unincorporated county areas do not.
Since no registration is required, there are no penalties for failure to register. Failure to provide tenants with required disclosures under the Landlord and Tenant Act may result in tenant claims and lease voidability. Failure to collect and remit TPT on rental income results in penalties from the Arizona Department of Revenue.
