No countywide STR registry exists. Allentown owners must register each rental unit, pass a code inspection, renew the license by December 31, and post the owner-and-occupant duties document in the unit.
Lehigh County keeps no short-term-rental registry; registration is municipal. Allentown's program requires every rental unit to be registered with the city and inspected by Residential Property Inspections before a license issues; the license stays valid for that calendar year. Owners receive a renewal bill and must renew by December 31 at $75 per unit, with late fees for missing the deadline. Owners must also display the Owner and Occupant Duties document in every rental unit. Separately, any operator collecting the county hotel tax must register the establishment with the Lehigh County Fiscal Officer within seven days of the ordinance or thirty days of commencing business.
Failure to register or renew leads to late fees, code citations, and inability to legally rent until the unit is licensed and compliant.
