Sec. 5.03.04 of the ULDC prohibits a long list of sign placements that capture nearly every common 'guerrilla' garage-sale sign location: signs erected on public property or on private utility poles located on public property, signs over public streets, signs painted on curbstone or sidewalk, signs on benches/bus shelters/waste receptacles (except as authorized by F.S. 337.407), and signs within 10 feet of public right-of-way containing red or green lights resembling traffic signals. Garage-sale signs on the resident's own property are permissible as temporary signs under Sec. 5.03.05 with the same residential dimensional limits (2 signs, 6 sq ft, 8 ft). The City may immediately remove non-compliant temporary signs at the owner's cost.
