Sec. 5.03.05 of the ULDC permits temporary signs citywide subject to limits in Table 5.03.05(C) (types and conditions) and Table 5.03.05(D) (standards). Residential districts (LDR/MDR): 2 signs maximum, each up to 6 sq ft individual area, 10 sq ft aggregate, 8 ft maximum height. High-density residential (HDR): 4 signs, 6 sq ft each, 16 sq ft aggregate, 8 ft tall. Non-residential districts: unlimited number, up to 64 sq ft each individually, total area capped at 100 sq ft OR one square foot per 10 feet of property frontage (whichever is smaller), 10 ft tall, with 100 ft spacing between signs on the same parcel. Temporary signs cannot be electric. Special-event or temporary-event signs must be removed within 5 days of event conclusion and run no more than 60 days total. The city follows Reed v. Town of Gilbert content-neutral framework - political signs receive the same treatment as other temporary signs.
Non-compliant temporary signs are subject to immediate removal by the City; the sign owner pays removal cost. Sec. 1-7 fines up to $500.
