Without that cover, the 48-inch barrier, self-latching gate and alarm rules apply. A spa built into a fenced pool area is already covered by that enclosure. Permits and final inspection through Horry County Code Enforcement still apply to in-ground and built-in spas.
A hot tub with no complying lockable cover and no 48-inch barrier fails inspection and may not be used until a compliant cover or enclosure is added.
