Recycling is voluntary in Paulding County. Georgia has no residential recycling mandate, and the county offers a free drop-off recycling center on County Services Lane in Dallas rather than curbside recycling.
There is no state or county law requiring households to recycle. Instead, Paulding County operates a staffed recycling center at 65 County Services Lane in Dallas, open Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings and closed Wednesdays and Sundays. It accepts aluminum and steel cans, corrugated cardboard, mixed paper, newspaper, magazines, household glass, #1 and #2 household plastics, motor oil, vehicle batteries, and electronics such as computers and cell phones. Tires are taken for a per-tire fee. Private haulers may offer their own curbside recycling by subscription.
There is no penalty for choosing not to recycle. Tires brought to the center carry a disposal fee of $5 per passenger tire and $7 per truck tire, plus $1 more per tire on a rim.
