Tethering regulations may limit chain or rope restraints to certain hours and require adequate shelter and water. Mississippi requires dogs to be licensed or registered in most municipalities. Dangerous dogs are subject to additional restrictions under local vicious animal ordinances. Off-leash areas may be designated in select parks.
