FWC actively enforces anti-feeding rules along Lake Apopka, the Butler Chain, Lake Conway, and the St. Johns headwaters. Intentional feeding of alligators is a second-degree misdemeanor. Sandhill crane feeding disrupts migration and is a Class I violation. Black bear activity is increasing in eastern and northern Orange County near the Wekiva River basin, where bear-resistant trash containers are recommended.
