Pennsylvania does not permit home cultivation of cannabis by medical patients or recreational users. Bucks County District Attorney's office actively prosecutes cultivation cases. Federal law (21 USC §841) also prohibits all cultivation as cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance. Reclassification proposals at the federal level as of 2024-2025 have not changed this. Adult-use (recreational) legalization has been debated in the PA General Assembly multiple sessions but has not passed as of 2025. The only legal cannabis cultivation in PA occurs at licensed state-approved grower/processor facilities (the nearest to Bucks operate in other counties). Possession for personal use (under 30 grams flower, under 8 grams concentrate) remains a summary offense in most of PA but is decriminalized in several municipalities — Bucks County has not adopted any decriminalization ordinance.
