Oklahoma City accepts code violation reports through the Action Center online at okc.gov, by phone, or in person. The city's Development Services department handles building code and zoning complaints while the Action Center handles neighborhood issues.
Oklahoma City residents can report code violations and neighborhood concerns through the OKC Action Center. Reports can be filed online at okc.gov through the Report section, by calling the Action Center, or by visiting City Hall. Common reportable issues include high weeds (over 12 inches), abandoned vehicles, junk and debris, structural disrepair, illegal dumping, fence maintenance issues, and zoning violations. The Development Services department at (405) 297-2525 handles building permits, building code violations, and zoning complaints. Code Enforcement helps create cleaner and safer neighborhoods through education, enforcement of City codes, abatement, and collaborations with neighborhoods. When a code violation is reported, an inspector visits the address to investigate. If a violation is confirmed, the inspector issues a notice to correct the problem within a specified timeframe. The city was previously transitioning from the OKC Connect app to a new reporting system. Reports can be filed anonymously. Repeat complaints about the same property increase priority.
No penalty for reporting. Confirmed violations result in a notice to correct with a compliance deadline.
