For housing habitability issues, contact the LA Housing Department (LAHD). For graffiti, contact the Office of Community Beautification through 311. For public right-of-way issues, contact the Department of Public Works through 311. Online requests can be submitted 24/7 at myla311.lacity.gov. Each service request receives a tracking number for follow-up. The MyLA311 mobile app includes GPS and photo capabilities for precise location and documentation of violations.
LADBS can issue Orders to Comply with fines starting at $311 per violation. Repeat violations can result in fines up to $50,000. LAHD violations for substandard housing conditions can result in criminal prosecution of landlords. Failure to abate nuisance conditions may result in city-ordered cleanup with costs billed to the property owner.
