Tuolumne County Code Compliance accepts complaints orally or in writing through the Community Development Department. Report violations at 209-533-6511 or codecompliance@co.tuolumne.ca.us with the property address and description of the violation.
Tuolumne County's Community Development Department (CDD) receives all complaints of violations to the Ordinance Code that CDD has authority to enforce, including Building, Planning, Solid Waste, and Environmental Health. Complaints can be filed orally or in writing. A physical address and short description of the alleged violation are required. Some complaint types are referred to other agencies: weed/brush complaints go to CAL FIRE, abandoned vehicles go to the Sheriff's vehicle abatement program, and sign violations in the road right-of-way go to Public Works. Code Compliance investigates, issues notices of violation, and follows through with enforcement if needed.
Filing a complaint is not a violation. False complaints may have legal implications.
