Recreational drone flight is effectively banned throughout Staten Island except in five FAA/NYC-approved takeoff and landing sites. NYC Admin Code 10-126 prohibits taking off or landing an aircraft (including drones) anywhere except a designated place. Additionally all of NYC lies within Class B airspace around JFK, LGA, and EWR, requiring FAA LAANC authorization.
