Exceptions: accompanied by parent or legal guardian; traveling to or from employment (with employer verification); responding to an emergency; attending official school, religious, or civic activity; engaged in interstate travel; on the sidewalk in front of the minor's own residence or the residence of a next-door neighbor. Enforcement: PSLPD officers may detain curfew violators and release to parents, or refer to Juvenile Assessment Center. Parents who knowingly permit curfew violations may be cited. Florida Statute 877.20-877.25 authorizes local juvenile curfews.
Minor violator: civil citation, referral to parent or juvenile services. Parents knowingly permitting: $50-$100 fine. Repeat violations: increased consequences and potential Department of Juvenile Justice referral.
