Sacramento County requires a clear sight triangle of 25 feet at corner lots. Fences, walls, and landscaping over 3 feet tall are prohibited in this triangle.
Zoning Code Section 5.3 establishes vehicular sight-distance triangles at all street intersections in unincorporated Sacramento County. The triangle extends 25 feet along each curb or property line from the intersection point. Within this area, nothing may exceed 3 feet in height, including fences, walls, hedges, signs, and parked vehicles. Street trees with canopies above 7 feet are permitted. The rule applies to all driveway intersections with arterial streets as well. Enforcement is elevated due to pedestrian and bicycle safety concerns along corridors like Greenback Lane and Watt Avenue.
Immediate removal order; 250 dollar fine and up; the County may abate at the owners expense if safety hazard.
