Requirements: barrier at least 48 in high, non-climbable (no horizontal rails closer than 45 in apart on climbing side), max 4 in gap beneath, self-closing and self-latching gate with latch at least 54 in above grade opening away from pool. Alternatives: ASTM F1346 safety pool cover; OR exit alarms on all doors/windows opening to pool area; OR all doors leading to pool self-closing and self-latching. Jacksonville Building Inspection Division enforces at permit inspection. Chain-link pool fence must have 1ΒΎ in max mesh.
No compliant barrier: second-degree misdemeanor under FL Β§515.29 (up to $500 fine and 60 days). Civil liability for any incident. Building Dept will not issue C.O. without compliant barrier.
